Extreme Tailgate Recipes

Most people don’t expect more than a basic burger or a hot dog from a tailgate party. If you’re looking to impress your friends and family with the kind of food that will draw people over from the tent with the 60" plasma TV, Aunt Millie’s has some tips to help you exceed expectations.

1. Meatball Hero

It may say “kaiser roll” on the label, but there’s no restrictions on what you can put in ‘em. These meatball heroes will showcase your creativity and turn you into a hero of your own—a tailgate hero—regardless of what happens on the field.

2. Italian Brat

In Italy, “calcio” means “football,” but that really means soccer. Whether you’re tailgating at an American football game or next to the soccer pitch, these international brats will definitely hit the spot.

3. Jalapeño Sloppy Joe

Sloppy Joes can be perfect tailgate food. Just prep the meat beforehand, throw it into a slow cooker, plug it in on your drive to the game and you’ll be ready to go by game time.

4. Cuban Brat

You're in the lot for every home game—and so are your buddies who will only eat brats. Luckily, there is a lot you can do with a brat. A Cuban brat with ham, spicy mustard, and pickles is a zesty option.

5. Turkey Jalapeño Popper Sliders

Bake these at home and all you have to do at the game is eat and, of course, call plays from the bed of your truck. Your sliders can be on fire, even if your team isn’t.

6. Bacon Mac 'N' Cheese Brat

There’s no rule that pasta can’t be a tailgate food. Whip up a batch of your mom’s famous mac 'n' cheese and then cover your brats with it for a hearty, cheesy, satisfying meal your friends will be asking for again. Just make sure you have enough for all the new friends you’ll be making.

7. Philly Cheesesteak Subs

It’s already a classic and Aunt Millie’s Deli Super Sub Buns will make it a winner. This hearty sandwich is a two-hander for sure so maybe you should save it for halftime.

8. Fiesta Brat

Don’t forget that a tailgate is first and foremost a party. When you need a little extra party in your party, bring in avocado and jalapeño and call it a “fiesta”!

9. Beer Cheese Brat

Beer isn’t just for drinking. It can be a flavorful addition to a recipe and here it’ll make your brats sing a fight song for sure.
